Job Highlight

The position serves as a Knowledge Management Analyst supporting how UNICEF develops, connects and uses knowledge to advance safe, secure and rights respecting digital ecosystems for children.

This is not a traditional training or content delivery role. The position contributes to a dynamic and evolving portfolio that spans information security awareness, knowledge management, research, advocacy and partnerships, supporting the translation of complex technical and policy concepts into practical tools, learning experiences, and strategic narratives that can drive action across UNICEF and with external partners.

Working under the guidance of the Knowledge Management Officer, the role supports the design, development and scaling of knowledge and engagement initiatives, including learning programmes, behavior change campaigns, research outputs, knowledge products and external engagement materials. The position requires the ability to move across different types of work, from developing learning content and analyzing data, to supporting advocacy messaging, drafting briefs, and contributing to research and thought leadership.

Role Purpose

Under the guidance of the Digital Impact Division, the Knowledge Management Analyst supports the development and delivery of integrated knowledge and learning solutions that underpin UNICEF’s Digital Guardrails agenda.

The role contributes to:

strengthening information security awareness and behavior change within UNICEFshaping evidence-based advocacy and communication on digital risks and safeguardssupporting research and knowledge generation on cybersecurity, data governance and child rightsenabling collaboration with internal teams and external partners

The position plays a key role in connecting learning, research, and advocacy outputs, ensuring that knowledge is translated into practical tools, campaigns, and actionable insights for UNICEF staff, partners, and wider audiences.

Functions / Key Results Expected

Learning and Awareness

Design, deliver and continuously improve information security awareness and digital guardrails learning initiatives (mandatory and targeted), including multilingual roll-out Support innovative and immersive learning approaches that drive behavior change across diverse audiences

Knowledge Products and Communications

Develop high-quality knowledge products such as guidance materials, briefs, toolkits, and communication assets Translate technical concepts into clear, accessible and engaging content tailored to different audiences

Advocacy and Partnerships

Contribute to advocacy initiatives by developing messaging, supporting campaigns, and preparing materials for events and external engagement Support collaboration with partners, including UN agencies, governments, and technical stakeholders, by preparing inputs, briefs, and knowledge resources

Research and Insight Generation

Support research activities including literature reviews, synthesis of findings, and drafting of analytical outputs Contribute to the development of evidence-based narratives on digital risks, safeguards, and impacts on children

Data, Monitoring and Learning

Support tracking and analysis of programme data (e.g. training completion, campaign engagement, simulations) Contribute to dashboards and reporting that inform programme improvement and strategic decision-making

Education Requirements

Required

A first university degree in a relevant field such as information management, digital studies, computer science, international development, human rights, or a related discipline is required. An advanced university degree (Master’s level or equivalent) in a related field is highly desirable.

Experience Requirements

Required:

A minimum of two (2) years of relevant professional experience is required. Candidates should demonstrate:

Exposure (academic or practical) to one or more of the following areas: cybersecurity, data governance, digital policy, or human/child rights in digital environments. Proven ability to analyze and visualize data, synthesize complex information and communicate it clearly, through academic work, research, or professional experience. Experience (academic or professional) contributing to knowledge products, research, learning content, or communication materials with strong attention to detail.

Desired:

Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and conduct interdisciplinary work, with strong proactivity, intellectual curiosity, and proven or emerging mastery of AI tools for research and/or prototyping purposes. Experience supporting or contributing to research activities, including literature reviews and data analysis outputs. Experience with learning, content development, or digital communication tools (e.g. e-learning platforms, visual content tools).
